Psalm 91

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.'
Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you make the Most High your dwelling--
even the Lord, who is my refuge--
then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command His angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in thier hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
'Because he loves me,' says the Lord, 'I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.,
With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

one of my favorite psalms. indeed, when the Lord is my strong tower there is nothing to fear, nothing to worry about, no need to wonder about the unknown. For He is good. He holds everything in the palms of His mighty hands. Even if I don't always understand why pain, sorrow and sickness happen when they do; I will rest in Him. For He knows and it's all a part of the tapestry He's forming. Sometimes it feels hard to be down here on earth. Because all we see is the bottom of the tapestry, seemingly threads of tangled chaos. But viewed from above it is a beautiful picture of His glory. I can't wait to get to heaven and see how my life is woven into this grand story of remdemtion.
To be home. To be done with battles, through with sin; and to see my King and Savior. What a wonderful thought. Oh, what a gloroius day that will be, when "the dream is ended, the night is over..."

all that to say pray for him and tell him to try out.

and if you know any drummers, bassists or percusionists interested in serving God and a church in sunny florida....

our worship leader will be david traugott. great guy. i was friends with his "little" sister and so i know some funny stories about him. his wife is sweet. and he has 2 adorable little kids.

i wasn't asking a vancouverian to move. that would be cruel, asking someone to come to the flatlands!!

hahaha, nice comments everyone. We're just starting up a youth band here... and since I can't sing... and the only other thing I do is piano (keys) I'll probably be doing that. But I totally hear you! There are way to many people who play guitar nowadays!! It's crazy!
And sorry to say... even if I crave Floridian weather... I would rather not move from Corning. ;)

By the way if anyone did not know, js. is me.
Anonymous said…
thanks for clearing that up js
Delian said…
hahaha... I kinda put two in two together with the js thing ;)

Snowboarding... takes guts, but is a heck of a lot of fun... as long as you get better at taking hard hits to the ground after you keep going off a jump that you'll probably never be able to land. lol.

Hey, if a rain day makes it a holiday I love rain days!!!!

I know where DrW has gone. Have you ever noticed her initials make Dr. W. You know Doctor w. It is late and I am up waiting for her to come home from babysitting. It is late my brain is fried and I don't know what I am saying just seem to not be able to stop hitting keys. You see Dami as you call her has run me ragged this week. Between Dr and radiologist. Back and forth, back and forth. that and prep for performances etc. But she was very thoughtful and brought home a diet lime coke for me one day. tommarrow we will be out at 8 and she will be gone till late. so i say hi for her and am done. OH by the way don't worry about the docs she is ok.
